Come out and check out John Candy Box at the The Second City Training Centre’s up and coming talent every Monday, Thursday and Friday for their regular performances. Tickets are Pay What You Can.
Right now, they have three regular shows going on:
Wheel of Improv
Four teams will compete in two 30 minute rounds. What will the game be? Well why don’t you let the Wheel decide (a la Wheel of Fortune)! New improvisors get the chance to play with fellow classmates and improv students, as well as seasoned improvisors-while playing with the fundamentals of improv. Come out and let the Wheel decide your FATE!
Game Player Thursdays
Players and Alumni from Rob Norman’s Game of the Scene class attack the stage! In the first half watch the current class strut their stuff in a montage of greatness. In the second half alumni can sign up to perform! Each week Rob welcomes a special guest to perform including mainstage alumni!
Naked Fridays
Host Stephen Kew, sidekick Chris New and announcer Josh Murray give a nod to The Golden Age of Television!
The 1950′s variety show features live music, improv, sketch, from Conservatory and Second City Alumni and special guests. Each week there is also a screening of 7dayshorts – 2 minutes short films are created by students and alumni based on an audience suggestion from the week before.
Want to see what a Second City Class is like before you sign up? Or just want to get some extra play time? Try the Drop In Improv class EVERY Monday 6-8pm only $5. No preregistration required. (It’s recommended to show up at least 15 min. early as this is a popular class).
