Scooter’s Roller Palace

Scooter’s Roller Palace is a diamond in the rough (especially with a name like that) and one of those rare gems that you stumble upon and realize “wow, this might be fun after all…”.

I stumbled upon Scooter’s Roller Palace after a friend poked and prodded me to head out to Roller skating with her – I still thank her for introducing me to the place.  One of my major gripes was that it was located out in Mississauga as I’m all about convenience for people who are in the early stages of dating… but hear me out for a sec.  Despite the location of the roller rink, believe me, the place is FUN!  From the cheesy 80’s decor, the booming sound system with a DJ that spins Top 40’s from the 70’s to 90’s, everybody “dancing” on their roller skates – everything about it makes for a memorable experience.

The price of admission starts at a reasonable $6.50 all the way up to $10.50 depending on which day you go and what time.  Skate rentals cost $2.50 for roller skates and $4.50.  I’d recommend renting the roller skates because they’re a lot more stable, easier to do “tricks” with and they’re helluva lot more fun than rollerblades.

The patrons Scooter’s attracts come from all age groups and diverse backgrounds.  We only decided to leave after me and my friend had worked up an appetite and headed over the Red Room for a bite.  Upon leaving the one thing you’ll notice is that everybody is having a great time with smiles from ear to ear, and you’ll be sure to have an awesome time as well :)

  • Went to Scooters Roller palace for my birthday last year and it was fantastic!! Everyone had a great time and even those who couldn't skate gave it a good try. And it's always fun to watch the old timers skate circles around the young kids. There was even a guy there doing backflips on rollerskates!!
  • Hehh.. I think we may be on to something here.. everybody who has been here has only great things to say about this place.. maybe I should include a "Best Of" section...

This is a great first date! In fact, my boyfriend and I went here for our first date 3 years ago now, and had a great time. You can still talk as you're skating around, it gives a topic of conversation (bringing up childhood memories of the 4 wheeled skates), and is something different. I would recommend this to anyone!
  • Hey Michelle,
