The Gourmet Food and Wine Expo 2009
If you’re a foodie, wine connoisseur (or both), completely new to all things gourmet or just want to check out something vibrant in the city. The Gourmet Food and Wine Expo is definitely one of the spots to check out this weekend from Nov 19th-22nd, 2009.
According to the expo’s official website:
The annual Gourmet Food & Wine Expo is held in November at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building. Each year the Expo offers 35,000 guests an unparalleled opportunity to sample over 1,200 fine wines, spirits and beers from around the globe.
The general tickets go for $15 (but you can save $3 with this form) and $1 for sample tickets (to save time and avoid lineups, you can buy sample tasting tickets online as well)
General Admission Tickets include:
• One day unlimited access to the Expo floor
• The opportunity to explore and learn about nearly every wine region from around the globe
• Complimentary professional chef presentations at the Food Network Stage
• A chance to sample cuisine from some of Toronto’s hottest chefs and restaurants
• Access to premium spirits and sampling from Toronto’s finest craft and micro breweries
• Preview the newest accessories and gift items for wine and culinary enthusiasts
• Live entertainment in the Central Entertainment Area
• Informative wine tasting sessions at the Connoisseur’s Corner stage (nominal fee to attend)
• Must be 19+ to attend, no infants or children are permitted
At this event not only will you find gourmet foods and wine connoisseurs, you get to meet and interact with some of Canada’s top wine authorities, celebrities and experts as well as get tutored tastings where you can learn all the subtle nuances of appreciating gourmet fare.
