Stepping into the New Revue Stage on Granville Island in Vancouver, where the Vancouver TheatreSports League (VSTL) performs their craft, there’s a certain energy and expectation that your funny bone will be tickled and delighted in ways you never thought possible (no, not that way, perv! ;) .   You’ll be surprised at how much fun you’ll have when you let go of the cynicism and worries of work and life, even if for an hour or two and just sit back and let the performers work their improv magic on stage.

This done through a series of challenges, games and suggestions literally thrown at them through the night that they need to improvise and somehow work into their performances.  They’ll pump you up, infuse you with energy and keep the pedal to the metal in cranking out laughs instead of horsepower (I take that back.  They crank out comedic horsepower, too!).

The tickets are reasonably priced where:

  • Wednesday nights they have 2 for 1 specials for $10 (or $5 each person)
  • Thursdays are Half-Priced tickets at $8.50 ($6.50 for students/seniors)
  • Fridays are $17 ($13 for students/seniors)
  • Saturdays are $19 ($15 for students/seniors )

You can buy the tickets through their box office or online

You’re getting a major bang for the entertainment buck so give ‘er a shot and live a little through the art and craft the skillful (did I mention hilaroius?) performances of improv done in the TheatreSports fashion at The Vancouver TheatreSports League!

As a personal testimonial of VSTL, I’ve nothing but fond and funny memories of VSTL, as it was my first taste of improv back in the Summer of 2004.   My sides literally ached from all the laughter and I’ve never let go of that feeling in taking improv classes myself to continue the fun over here in Toronto.  I make the extra effort in visiting VSTL everytime I’m in Vancouver for business or friends.
