Here’s a great free date idea for people who want to stay active. The Mastercard Centre for Hockey Excellence and opens on Sept 8th, and is open to the public for to skate every Saturday 2:15 – 4:15 PM (from Sept 2009 – June 2010). The great thing about this place – you’ll be skating on the same ice as the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Marlies and Lakeshore Lions!
Here’s an excerpt from the Mastercard website regarding the opening of their new training facility:
September 8, 2009, marks the official grand opening of the new MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence. With 4 world-class ice pads, it is the new permanent training facility for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Marlies, new regional office to Canada’s national hockey teams, and home to the Lakeshore Lions.
As the first community ice facility built in the Toronto-area in more than 25 years, the MasterCard Centre will benefit hockey players and enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels, ultimately supporting the growth and development of the sport for the next generation.
To all Hockey Fans, from players to parents, the MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence provides the opportunity to fulfill hockey dreams, with hundreds of teams from the Greater – Toronto Area and beyond making use of this state-of-the-art facility.
Join us for the MasterCard Free Skate for Families
Public Free-Skate EVERY SATURDAY, from 2:15 pm – 4:15 pm (September – June)
Enjoy Extended Public Free-Skate hours during school public development days, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm (for exact days, please consult your public school board schedule).
